What actually goes into building a website, start to finish

Thinking about getting a new website but not sure what the process looks like? Here's exactly how a project goes, step by step.

One of the most common things I hear is "I know I need a website, but I have no idea how it all works." That's completely normal. Here's the whole process, in plain English, so you know what to expect.

1. We talk about your goals

Before any design happens, we have a conversation. What does your business do? Who are your customers? What do you want the site to actually accomplish — more calls, more bookings, more credibility? Everything else is built around those answers.

2. Planning the pages

Next we map out what pages you need and what goes on each one. For most businesses that's a home page, an about page, services, and a way to get in touch. We keep it focused — every page should have a job.

3. Design

This is where your site starts to look like yours. I build a design around your brand, your colors, and your content — not a template everyone else is using. You'll see it and give feedback before we go further.

4. Building it

Once the look is approved, I build the real, working site: fast, mobile-friendly, and easy to manage. Every site comes with a simple admin panel so you can update text, images, and posts yourself.

5. Review and launch

We go through everything together, test it on phones and computers, connect your domain, set up your email and contact form, and then launch. I don't disappear after that — I make sure it's working and that you know how to use it.

6. After launch

Websites aren't "set it and forget it." I offer care plans for backups, updates, and small changes, so your site stays fast and current without you having to think about it.

That's it — no mystery, no jargon. If you've been putting off a new website because the process felt overwhelming, I hope this makes it feel doable. Reach out anytime and we'll figure out the right next step for your business.
